Obituary of Pedro Luis Rivera

On April 24, 2024, Pedro Luis Rivera, loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend, passed away at the age of 74.

Pedro Luis was born on January 30, 1950, to Pedro and Luz Rivera in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He leaves behind his wife, Ana A Rivera; his daughters, Luz and Sonaly; his grandchildren, Andrew, Aliza, Samira, Sarah, and Aiden; and his siblings, Rosa, Esmeraldo, and Lucy.

Pedro Luis and his wife, Ana, met in NYC when they both migrated from their native lands, married in 1971, and grew a family, including their two daughters, in Inwood, Manhattan. His unwavering dedication to his family was evident in every action he took. He worked tirelessly to provide his daughters with the best life he could envision, and this devotion extended to his grandchildren when they arrived. Whether it was a pair of sneakers for their birthday or an ice cream bar on a random Sunday, his love for his grandchildren was always on display.

Adored and respected by all, Pedro Luis's selfless nature left a lasting mark on many lives. Despite his quiet and reserved demeanor, his actions spoke volumes. His infectious smile and laughter drew people from all corners of the community and his extended family. His absence will be deeply felt, a testament to the impact he had on those around him.

Visitation wil be at The Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway New York, NY 10034 on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm.

Mass will be at Good Shepherd Church Isham St. and Broadway on Tuesday, April 30, 2034 at 10am

Burial will be at George Washington Memorial park, 234 Paramus Rd., Paramus, N.J. 07652 on Tuesday April 30, 2024 at 12pm
